Server-side vs. Client-side 

Federating your data in one accessible account has too many advantages to list here. Just imagine not having to hunt for files on multiple computers and databases; imagine having all of your relevant data at your fingertips 24/7.

The days of storing data important files in the grey box under your desk will soon be behind us. And, forget about carrying around a thumb drive, now all you need to access your files is an internet connection.

Now let's address security. With a client-side solution you must by definition send a file to the recipient. With ACO, your original file never leaves our servers. The viewer sees, marks up, annotates and shares the information without actually receiving the original file. The original file never leaves our secure servers.

In-Browser viewing vs. Proprietary viewers.

Proprietary viewers have costs even if they are free (and in the CAD world they are rarely free):

Viewers have to be installed and kept up to date by your IT staff (if you are lucky enough to have an IT staff).

Viewers almost without question require training.

Client side viewers do not immediately communicate your notes.

Our In-Browser functionality removes all of these barriers.  Aftercad Online never has to be updated by you (we take care of that on our end);  it is as easy to view files as it is to use the major online map sites (you know who we mean); and any annotations or mark up are immediately transmitted to the file on our servers making collaboration immediate and easy.
