QuickStart Guide

Welcome to Aftercad Online.  This guide is intended to get you up and running with ACO in a matter of minutes.  For more detailed information please refer to our FAQ.

Before You Begin

Check Your System

The Browser Certification gadget on the left will be checkmarked  if your web browser meets our minimum requirements.  Otherwise, it will display a failure .  Click the Browser Certification gadget for details.

In order to share your first document on ACO you will require:

  1. a user name
  2. a password
  3. a file to share (If you do not have a file, you can download a public domain DWG file here.)

Uploading Your Source Document

From the Workspace page (Click here to open) Click on "Folder > New File".

From the next page click "Browse..." and select the File you would like to upload.

Once you have selected your file, click "Next"

To auto prepare the document for sharing check the, "Convert File" box on the following page.

Click "Finish" to both upload your file and prepare it for sharing.

Share Your ACO Document

Select the document that you would like to share from your "My WebDocs" folder.

Click the "Share" tab and enter the email address of the person you wish to share the file with.

From this tab you will also be able to choose whether the person you share the file with will be able to mark up the file (as a "collaborator") or just view the file.

Introduction to the ACO Toolset

Grab Tool

Use this tool to move your document left, right, up and down. Simply, left-click, hold and move your mouse.

Annotation Tool

Left click on the Annotation flag to view the drop-down annotation sub menu.

From the Annotation sub menu, choose the type of annotation flag you would like to use.

For Rectangular and Oval annotations: after selecting tool, left click, hold and drag the mouse on the document to place annotation flag.

Click to toggle Annotation flags on and off.

Layer Tool

For a video introduction to Layers Click Here.

Use this tool to show/hide the Layer Controls panel.

Click on the "eye" in the Layer Controls panel to toggle individual layers on and off.
